Crappie
Crappie or white perch are a fun sunfish to have in your pond or lake. They do better in larger bodies of water, 3 acres or more, but can be found in smaller ponds. They do not eat processed feeds and rely on the natural foods produced by the pond or lake. Due to the competition with other species in your pond or lake for food resources they tend to stunt out or disappear overtime. This fish needs to be harvested if stocked in the pond or lake to keep a growing population thriving. Bass benefit from crappie being stocked in your pond or lake and will also help control the population. We recommend stocking 50 per acre. It is an excellent food source for bass and the supper table.
